Camping, what fun. This last weekend we went camping with my parents as well as my mom's sister and brother and their families. When we go on trips, this means I get to pack for 5 people. My husband is the hardest because I never know exactly what he wants to take, but neither does he. So I put what I think he should take and lay it out on the bed. Then he comes along and exchanges, adds and takes away things. The system works pretty well.
After I packed everyones clothes I gave my husband his choice of two tasks. Neither of which he likes doing, but both of which needed to be done before we left. We could clean the kitchen or pack the car. He choose to clean the kitchen. You have to understand, that my husband was a janitor for six years and is a very through cleaner. So even after I had the entire car packed, he was still working on the kitchen. And now, the stove display is really shiny and the entire counter is clean, not just up to things, but behind them as well. I love my husband.
After he finished the kitchen, he brought out his bag of clothes, I put it in the car. I then turn around and he is holding 5 pairs of shoes. I look at him and he says, I don't know which ones I might need. Understand, we left on Friday and came back on Monday. I thought it was pretty comical. He did have a good reason for each pair of shoes he held, but I did get him to leave one pair behind.
We then went on our journey. It was a great time with family. The children enjoyed it even though we never caught any fish. The man in the camper space next to us caught six finish on Sunday and we didn't get any. He did allow Tirzah to reel in two of them, which she enjoyed.
The trip was fun and God's creation is always beautiful.
